1. What are exterior graphics?
Self-adhering, pressure-sensitive vinyl graphics
which are applied to exterior surfaces such as on trucks, cars,
boats, recreational vehicles (RV), and other manufactured original
equipment such as farm and industrial equipment to identify and
beautify products.
2. What is the difference
between exterior graphics and interior graphics?
Exterior graphics are premium grade vinyl graphics printed with
solvent-based or UV inks to withstand the effects of weather and
exposure to UV light. Interior graphics are printed on thinner,
less durable vinyls, using inks which do not withstand outdoor
exposure. Exterior graphics are available with 1-year, 2-year,
5-year, and 7-year life expectancy.
3. What is pressure-sensitive
vinyl film?
Vinyl film is available in a wide array of colors with a variety
of visual properties, such as nonmetallic, metallic, pearlescent,
iridescent, translucent and reflective. The film is backed with
a professional grade pressure-sensitive adhesive which will adhere
permanently to any properly prepared surface.
4. What is premask?
An important component of the vinyl graphics application system,
premask is a tacky, paper-like substrate which is applied to the
surface of the vinyl film. Premask acts as both a protector and
also a carrier for the precut/prespaced and printed graphics to
the surface to which it is applied. During application, a squeegee
is used with firm, overlapping strokes and even pressure over
the premask. Then the premask is removed to expose the graphics,
leaving all of the design elements in precise position.
5. How can I get a quote?
Julius Barth & Associates, Inc. is pleased to quote at your
request on any project. Simply submit a drawing, sketch, rough
draft, or finished sample, giving specific dimensions, quantity,
color choices, and the desired durability (2-year, 5-year, 7-year)
for your specific project. Or, if you have no drawing, describe
your idea and we will help you through the creative process and
render an initial concept. Feel free to use our convenient e-mail
